On standing up for what you believe in.
On September 10th, Charlie Kirk was shot and killed. As a person, I really looked up to him. I saw how he loved God, his family, and his country. He was a guy who could stand up to people who threatened him. And I appreciate that.
I'm not here to debate politics. It doesn't really matter if you agreed with him or not: if you have any sense you can see that he was at least a decent person, if more than that.
There are many people who I disagree with, but I will never condone killing someone because you feel hurt by them. I know for a fact that Charlie offended a lot of people.
Here's the unfortunate truth: people are crazy. In the world we live in, you can be killed for saying things online. People will degrade until they can justify murder. They justify more and more until they believe they are servicing God by killing a man who stands up for what he believes in.
So what can we do? Not back down. These people will continue to deform and degrade. The only thing we can do is fight back. Even if you didn't agree with Charlie, I'm sure many people can agree it's good to stand up for what you believe.
Charlie died for something good. We need to make sure it wasn't in vain. Stand up for what you believe in. This doesn't mean you need to start debating college students. You don't need to start a podcast. But in your daily life, embody those attributes that he carried with pride. Be willing to talk. Remain calm. Stand up for others.
Because, as Charlie said, "When people stop talking, you get violence."
See you on the next one.
